Model Railroad
Model railroad and trains are a huge hobby for thousands if not millions of people all over the world. The cool part about it is that when you have a hobby that so many other people are into as well then you can really share that, and find a community that wants to support you plus give you new ideas as you go. But back ground buildings in model railroads are expensive and hard to find sometimes. The reason it can be kind of hard is because you want it to be the right scale to match the train the buildings can’t be too small or too big. But depending on the scale size that you are working with you can find some buildings in some unexpected places.
The first place to hit up would be local yard sales as those model buildings can be used for more than just trains and a lot of people will get it for one occasion and then get rid of it because they aren’t going to use it again. But this means you can get great deals, another place to go are thrift stores. At thrift stores you might get lucky and find an entire set to scale because of the fact you get items from everywhere with a thrift store. You get the stuff from the mom who is sick of storing their kid’s old stuff, to the old lady who died down the street and her kids donated everything.
After those two places go to craft stores, and finally a model train store is sure to have what you need but it will get up there in price very quickly depending on the scale that you are working on. But if all else fails ask in the community as train lovers everywhere are a community that shares in each other. Click on railroad backdrop buildings for more details.
